Description
As a Senior Engineer in the Product Assurance Team, you will be supporting development and acceptance test activities across the whole spectrum of the Raymarine product portfolio. You will be working closely with the development teams to bring innovative ideas to life, facilitating testing in line with the design verification plan and verification of the end product with company and industry standards. You will help to develop capabilities and processes to test and verify the robustness of our products in line with industry best practice.
Your Job
1. Provide technical leadership as the test authority for the designated subject matter, to development teams and testers
2. Provide training to the Product Assurance testers as the test technical authority for the designated subject matter, in this case Radar development and test
3. Support the UX design team with experienced and up to date domain and subject matter input with regards to usability and correct operation
4. Be the go-to technical test authority to the Radar and other value streams
5. Review, develop and maintain technical processes in order to optimize efficiencies within the areas of responsibility
6. Ensure the test environments are maintained for the assigned subject matter and the teams have access to all test tools and products required for all configurations
7. Research and develop improvements with emulation and simulation test tools
8. Research and develop improvements with test processes
9. Manage own workload priorities
This will encompass:-
10. Managing and taking responsibility for own workflow and throughput, maintaining business priorities
11. Supervising and mentoring test engineers from a technical perspective
12. Supervising test products and tools inventory, ensuring availability and proper storage
13. Implement and maintain health and safety standards for a safe working environment
14. Organising and delivering training for internal and external testers and promoting best practices
15. Developing the necessary skills and tools to simulate the environments Raymarine products face, to ensure that they are safe, robust and fit for purpose
16. Work from customer test requirements and turn them into a viable test strategy
17. Lead and coach the Test Analysis process
To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have: -
18. 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer in a similar discipline
19. Knowledge/experience of Radar product development for both testing & acceptance
20. Experience with test automation tools, eg: Python, Selenium, etc
21. >3 years of related experience in the marine domain
22. Experience working in a fast-paced product development environment
23. A suitable/related Engineering qualification such as HND or BSc/BEng
24. Extensive experience working in a Test Laboratory with ability to:Use Low voltage DC Power suppliesUnderstand workings of LAN/WAN, NMEA0183/2000Utilise network analyser tools for diagnostics & monitoringUse Digital VoltmeterUse VSWR meter for VHF & Antennae tuningConfigure and apply various product/data simulators (PGN Sender, etc)
25. Experience managing Health and Safety practices alongside the creation and review of risk assessments
26. Excellent problem solving skills coupled with a sound fundamental knowledge of engineering principles
27. Physical assembly and testing of products and systems
28. Excellent collaboration and communication skills
29. Strong time management and organizational skills
30. Willing to work with the team on-site 5 days a week, with regular seatrials
31. Fluent in English, both verbal and written
