Contract: Permanent. Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary: £31,855 - £40,630 per annum (based on 40 hours). Significantly higher earnings available with overtime, travel time, call‐out and weekends.
You Will Be Expected To
* Maintain, fault find, install, and commission systems including:
o Fire alarms
o Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs)
o CCTV
o Access control
o Warden call systems
o Fire extinguishers
* Correctly complete engineer service reports
* Identify and report deficiencies or system deviations
* Maintain and service emergency lighting systems and associated equipment
* Carry out regular van stock checks, liaising with Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement to ensure correct stock levels
* Maintain a strong Health & Safety mindset, identifying risks and reporting issues promptly
* Achieve first‑time fixes wherever possible
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A flexible approach to work (engineers typically work 45-50 hours per week)
* Willingness to work weekends and participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota
* A full UK Driving Licence
* Proven fire alarm experience, including analogue addressable and conventional systems
* FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals
* Strong understanding of BS5839, particularly Part 1 and Part 6
* Good IT literacy
* Sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations
