Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Care Officer (OT duty worker) to work as part of a newly formed OT duty team. The duty process is the 'front door' for the OT service and as such is the first step in the client's journey. This is an exciting time to be involved in the occupational therapy duty team as it is a new team within the service.
Responsibilities
* The Duty Team Community Care Officers are the first point of contact for service users with the LCC OT Team. The team gather accurate information remotely to assess service users\' needs and requirements before either providing the required advice and guidance or assigning cases needing comprehensive OT assessment to the relevant team box, documenting clear clinical reasoning.
* You will be developing links and working relationships with other therapy services to ensure the right service is involved at the right time and in an effective and timely manner.
* Through a proportionate duty assessment, you will determine cases appropriate for direct provision of equipment and will progress as appropriate.
* This position will ideally be based in Lincoln. However, there could be agreement to work from the Gainsborough office or from home (once training is complete).
Qualifications & essential criteria
* Excellent communication skills, this is a remote role so mindfulness of communication is paramount.
* Excellent active listening skills, you must be able to hear what is not being said too.
* Advanced questioning skills.
* An open, approachable and honest outlook.
* A self-starter, who can manage their own time and workload effectively.

* In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
