Prospere Learning Trust - Cover Supervisor
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA).
This is a Grade 5, permanent full time post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £24,998 pro rata and the full time equivalent is £29,064.
Role overview: Cover Supervisors support the professional work of teachers by delivering agreed learning activities to whole classes to cover short-term staff absences. This includes planning, preparing and delivering learning programmes, ensuring the educational provision for students remains robust during staff absence. You will also assess student progress in lessons and record assessments on the appropriate school systems.
Qualifications and experience: Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, qualified to NVQ L2 or higher. Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age and an understanding of the national/foundation stage curricula and basic learning programmes/strategies.
Main purpose of the job: Support the management and development of a specialist area in school or across a department, and/or lead and deploy teaching assistants to address the needs of students who require help to overcome barriers to learning.
* Work in collaboration with teaching colleagues to coordinate and plan schemes of work for teaching assistants undertaking specified teaching work.
* Contribute to Senior Management Team or Departmental Management Team.
* Line management and supervision of support staff, including implementation of performance management procedures.
* Supervise work that has been set in accordance with school policy.
* Manage the behaviour of students to ensure a constructive learning environment while undertaking work.
* Take appropriate responsibility and action for safeguarding; be aware of confidential issues and maintain as appropriate.
* Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person.
