Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading construction and engineering firm on the appointment of a SHEQ Graduate/Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate or early-career professional to develop a career within Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ). You will play a key role in supporting the SHEQ team, contributing to the ongoing delivery and improvement of SHEQ management systems across the organisation.
In your new role:
1. Assist with site inspections and audits across projects in the UK and Ireland, reporting on compliance and recommending improvements
2. Assist with the investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences, supporting the development of corrective actions
3. Contribute to the preparation of Health & Safety documentation including Health & Safety Plans, Risk Assessments (RAMS) and COSHH assessments
4. Support the preparation of reports, statistics, and toolbox talks to communicate SHEQ performance across the business
5. Help deliver training and presentations to staff and subcontractors to raise awareness and promote a positive SHEQ culture
6. Assist with subcontractor competence assessments and pre-qualification questionnaires for tenders
7. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of SHEQ management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
8. Promote Health, Safety and Environmental best practice at all levels of the company and with subcontractors
What you will need to succeed:
9. Previous placement or work experience in a SHEQ-related role (construction or engineering preferred)
10. NEBOSH General Certificate
11. Knowledge of safety regulations in the UK and Ireland
12. IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
13. Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
14. Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, or a related discipline.
15. Awareness of ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001)
16. Other relevant Health & Safety certifications
