Job overview
NUH Life is a state-of -the-art fertility outpatients, andrology and donor sperm bank based at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust Queens Campus.
We provide NHS fertility consultations to all, including heterosexual couples, single women, same sex couples and couples with children.
We provide NHS funded treatments including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination and donor insemination to those who are eligible and also affordable self-funded treatment to those who fall outside the NHS funding criteria.
We are licensed by the HFEA for the storage of sperm, recruitment and screening of sperm donors.
Main duties of the job
You should be able to work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care appropriate to the needs of the patient and care for and manage their own caseload of patients. You will be able to evaluate and vet new referrals to the unit both NHS and private and assign to appropriate clinician. You should be able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop the service in order to meet the needs of patients and their families. The post holder will demonstrate clinical judgement and critical decision making skills based upon evidence based practice and be able to provide specialist training across functional boundaries

The post holder will act as a Fertility Nurse specialist and be required to work within the rest of the NUH Life team. We would encourage those with either nursing or midwifery services to apply.

* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills

* Can minimise interpersonal conflict and barriers to communication
