We have an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our forward thinking practice. We have 2 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs and we are looking to expand our team. We are a total triage practice using Footfall for all of our appointment requests. We have capped numbers per day and our clinical staff book their own appointments in line with their judgement of the patients condition. You will decide how long your patients appointment needs to be, and when it needs to be. You will manage your own workload in a way that suits you. You will be supported by our large team of ANPs, nurses, HCAs, Home visiting team, Pharmacy team, Administrators and Receptionists.


Main duties of the job

We are looking for up to 8 sessions over 4 days.

To work as an autonomouspractitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practicepopulation, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complyingwith the GMS contract.

Furthermore, the post holder willadhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to theeffective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining apositive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilitiesof the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry outother tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload andstaffing levels:

a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b.Theprovision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d.Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions

e.Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeatprescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f.Ona rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g.Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance

h.Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i.Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the auditprocess

j.Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice

k.Acceptdelegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

l.Attendand contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

m.Contributeeffective to the development and maintenance of the practice includingclinical governance and training

n.Ensurecompliance with the appraisal process

o.Prepareand complete the revalidation process

p.Committo self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional developmentacross the practice team

q.Supportthe training of medical students from all clinical disciplines

r.Supportthe partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, makingrecommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

s.Reviewand always adhere to practice protocols and policies

t.Encouragecollaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting aculture of continuous improvement

In addition to the primary responsibilities,the salaried GP may be requested to:

a.Participatein practice audits as requested by the audit lead

b.Participatein local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

c.Participatein the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structuredapproach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Qualified GP
* MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
* Full GMC registration
* National Performers List registration
* Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
* Effective time management (planning and organising)
* Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Clear, polite telephone manner
* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
