The Opportunity Most strategic marketing roles ask you to execute someone else’s playbook. This one asks you to write it. iGii is developing Gii a proprietary 3D carbon nanomaterial designed to become a core enabling technology in next-generation electrochemical and electronic systems. We’re at an inflection point. Gii is proven and Tier-1 customer engagement is accelerating. What we need now is someone who can define the architecture of how it wins, which markets, which customers, which commercial models and then execute against that vision with pace and rigour. This is a Director-level role with genuine scope. You’ll sit at the intersection of technology, commercial strategy, and customer insight, working directly with leadership and across every function in the business. If you’ve built markets from first principles before, and you’re energised by the challenge of making a genuinely novel technology commercially inevitable, we’d like to speak with you. About iGii iGii is a deep-tech advanced materials company headquartered in Stirling, Engineered as a pure, porous nanostructure, Gii delivers ultra-high electrochemical performance, inherent anti-fouling behaviour, and scalable manufacturability. It is positioned to replace legacy materials such as noble metals and carbon inks, enabling step-change improvements in performance, cost and system integration. Gii is not a single application - it is a platform. It enables multi-analyte electrochemical sensing, microheaters and energy storage, with the ability to integrate across multiple products, workflows, and industries. As capability expands, the platform compounds unlocking broader application coverage and increasing value at the system level. iGii’s strategy is to embed Gii within Tier-1 products and workflows, establishing it as a foundational material within critical applications and driving adoption at global scale. Your purpose in the Role: You will define and drive the market architecture that enables adoption of iGii’s Gii nanomaterial electrochemical multi-analyte sensing platform across Tier-1 customers. This role is responsible for translating platform capability into commercial inevitability - shaping where and how Gii wins, how value is captured and how iGii becomes embedded within critical customer workflows. What you will do: Market architecture and positioning Define and execute the global market architecture for iGii, identifying priority sectors, applications, and adoption pathways that drive Tier-1 integration. Lead market segmentation, competitor analysis, and opportunity assessment to prioritise high-value markets and applications. Build and strengthen iGii’s positioning as a core enabling platform across sensing, advanced materials, and nanotechnology markets. Represent iGii at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements to strengthen visibility and commercial positioning. Commercial strategy and value capture Translate complex platform capabilities into compelling, defensible customer value propositions and go-to-market strategies aligned to Tier-1 priorities. Shape and influence commercial models that maximise long-term value capture, including platform access, consumables strategies, and integration pathways. Support the development of pricing strategies, business cases, and commercial models for new opportunities. Define and execute strategies that position iGii within Tier-1 capital allocation frameworks, ensuring Gii is adopted as a core enabling technology rather than evaluated as a component. Cross-functional leadership and execution Partner closely with Engineering, R&D, Commercial, and Leadership to ensure cohesive market strategy and support product launches, customer engagement, and content strategy. Establish success metrics, track marketing performance, and continually refine strategy based on market feedback. Build and mentor a high-performing Strategic Marketing capability as iGii continues to scale. Represent iGii at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements to strengthen visibility and commercial positioning. You have experience shaping markets where the product or category did not previously exist. You have a track record of building and executing strategic marketing plans in a scaling or high-growth B2B environment with long sales cycles. You can operate comfortably across technical depth and commercial strategy – translating nanomaterial science and product architecture into customer value and market opportunity. You have managed cross-functional stakeholders and influenced at senior level, translating high-level objectives into actionable plans. You have represented a business externally at events, conferences, and customer engagements. Experience in managing agencies or external partners is desirable A relevant degree within a marketing or scientific discipline is desirable, though not required. Significant industrial experience in a related field is what matters most. Why Join iGii This is not a role you take to maintain momentum. It’s one you take to build something.
