Job Description
3. Manage a portfolio of SME clients, acting as the main point of contact
4. Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns
5. Review work completed by junior team members to ensure accuracy and compliance
6. Provide practical business advice and identify areas for improvement or efficiency
7. Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
8. Monitor workflow, deadlines, and service delivery standards
9. Support and develop junior staff through mentoring and on-the-job training
10. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
11. Promote best use of accounting software and digital tools to enhance client service
The Successful Applicant
12. ACA/ACCA qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience)
13. Solid background in accountancy practice with experience preparing year-end accounts and VAT
14. Confident reviewing work and taking responsibility for client relationships
15. Strong communication skills with a professional and proactive approach
16. Commercially aware and comfortable advising SME clients
17. Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar
18. Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
