The post holder will provide caring, professional, and specialised assistance and support for maxillofacial, orthodontic, restorative, and prosthetics clinicians and post-graduate students. Provide pre/post-operative specialised advice to patients, including hygiene instructions. Assist in the smooth running of the department and provide professional care and specialised knowledge for a wide range of patients.
Main duties of the job
The Maxillofacial and Orthodontic department is looking for dynamic, conscientious, hardworking team players to work across 3 of the sites within the Royal Free London NHS sites: Barnet, Chase Farm, and Edgware Hospitals.
Staff are rotated on a regular basis. The post holders will be required to assist the Senior Nurses in the management, day-to-day operational running, and organisation of a demanding maxillofacial department.
Candidates must hold the National Dental Nurse Certificate Qualification and be fully registered with the General Dental Council. We are looking for persons who fulfill the personal specification for this post. Ideally, you will be hospital-trained in both maxillofacial and orthodontics.

Education & professional Qualifications
* National Certificate for Dental Nursing / NVQ or hospital equivalent / Diploma level
* GCSE or equivalent in English and 1 other subject
* Registered with the GDC
* Track record of continuous professional development
Experience
* Significant Post Graduate experience as a dental nurse/surgery assistant in which some demonstrable experience in Oral & Maxillofacial, Orthodontics, and Restorative Department
* While some experience in each of the above subjects is a minimum request, the candidate will be expected to become proficient in a full range of maxillofacial, orthodontic, and restorative skills during their development though the KSF framework
