Veterinary Surgeon

Salary up to £75,000 FTE depending on experience plus bonus of up to £7,500 FTE and a relocation allowance up to £1,000
Here at Orwell Veterinary Group, we are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our team and participate in the consulting or surgery rota. You will need a full driving license to drive between our main hospital and 2 branch surgeries.
Our caseload is small animal including dentistry (including dental x-ray), basic orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, imaging (digital x-ray, new ultrasound machine and endoscopy), medicine, laparoscopic surgery.

We can be flexible on the number of days and hours per week, dependant on the right candidate.
Shifts are normally 08.30-18.30 however early and late shifts occur during the hours of 8am and 7pm.
There will be a requirement to work some weekends, but this will depend on the amount of hours worked in a week. Current full-time vets work 1 in 5 Saturdays 8am-12.30pm. There are no out of hours involved in this role.

Orwell Veterinary Group is based in and around Ipswich, Suffolk. We have a tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital and 2 consulting only branches.
Our Grange Farm Hospital has 3 consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, imaging room, ICU, Isolation, separate dog and cat wards alongside a spacious prep area. We have laprascopic equipment, dental radiography, a new ultrasound machine as well as the standard equipment you would find in a tier 3 hospital.
The surgery is based in Suffolk, near Ipswich where you will find a good mix between town and rural settings, the beach is not far away as well as being near a train station with a direct route into London.

Our practice currently has 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 11 Nurses and a number of Support staff working variable hours across our 3 sites. We currently have a number of certificate holders in our veterinary team (or working towards certificates) including Surgery, Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Imaging and Cardiology. Our close-knit team are friendly, career driven and have a focus on clinical standards, Infection Prevention Control as well as driving to lower the use of antibiotics in practice. We encourage CPD and career progression.
