We are currently recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work within supportive primary, secondary and SEND schools across Northumberland and Newcastle. This opportunity is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, counselling or child development.
We are particularly interested in graduates with degrees in:
* Teaching & Education
* Psychology
* Childhood Studies
* Sociology
* Criminology
* Health & Social Care
* Sports Coaching
* English, Maths or Science
* Or other relevant degree subjects
The Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
* Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
* Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
* Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to staff
The Ideal Candidate:
* Holds a degree in a relevant subject
* Passionate about working with children and young people
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Calm, patient and proactive approach
* Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
