Technical Support Engineer – Industrial Electrical Control and Automation
Provide sales and technical support to external customers for industrial electrical control and automation products, developing and maintaining customer relationships to maximize sales opportunities.
Candidates should be based within Wolverhampton, Bilston, Willenhall, Wednesbury, Walsall, Brownhills, Cannock, West Bromwich, and surrounding West Midlands areas for commuting.
Responsibilities
* Respond to and handle automation product technical enquiries.
* Understand and be familiar with the full product range, offer alternatives, and advise on product selection.
* Assist in creating quotations, assess competitive position, and maintain profitability.
* Collaborate with Field Sales Engineers and other staff to meet branch objectives and sales performance.
* Perform other duties as assigned within a team environment.
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
* ONC/HNC/BSc in Electrical Engineering or related qualification.
* Technical knowledge of industrial electrical, control, and automation products such as IIOT, HMI, PLC, IEC 61131:3, variable speed drives and instrumentation.
* Commercial awareness and customer‑focused mindset.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Experience in a similar sales or customer‑service environment.
* Background in electrical distribution or an electrical engineering role is an advantage.
