Reports to: Service Manager. Required Qualification – To apply for this role you must have completed a QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent. Flexibility: A requirement of this role is to support Team Leaders in other Trust services, when necessary, across Greater Manchester. Working pattern: Working flexibly over 5 days. A current driving licence is required for this role, held for at least 12 months. Specialist Day Service (Salford) supports adults with autism and learning disabilities. The service embeds positive behavioural support approaches to enable individuals to engage in a range of indoor and community-based activities that promote independence, wellbeing and social inclusion. The role reports to a Service Manager; you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the service. You will support and develop the staff team, ensure high-quality, person-centred support is delivered, and promote safe, inclusive and empowering practice across both provisions. Although these services are not CQC regulated, the Team Leader will ensure practice is delivered in line with sector best practice, organisational policies, safeguarding requirements and recognised quality frameworks. You will play a key role in maintaining positive cultures, supporting staff wellbeing, and ensuring the voices, choices and rights of the people we support are central to everything we do. A crucial part of this role is also the quality assurance of our services as you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure the services are delivered to the highest standard possible. Additional key responsibilities include:


Responsibilities

* Effectively & operationally manage all service resources to enable the people supported to achieve optimal outcomes in safe and secure environments.
* Arrange, attend and produce accurate records of multidisciplinary meetings with other professionals and/or family liaison meetings and other stakeholders.
* Under the direction of the Service Manager, develop an open, robust and participatory management culture to ensure staff have the ability and competence to undertake their full role and remit.
* Provide staff supervisions, attend team meetings, implement team development plans including planning for and releasing staff to participate in mandatory training.
* Actively assist with the selection, recruitment and retention of staff to ensure safe, nurturing and positive environments/services.
* Be effective in ensuring that standards of care and support meet and/or exceed the requirements of the people supported and their families, CQC and commissioners of the service.
* Oversee all aspects of health & safety within services, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for the people who use our services are achieved.
* Ensure the safeguarding of all individuals and follow the Together Trust's policies and procedures.
* Ensure any/all financial elements of the service are managed effectively.
* Contribute to the strategic direction and development of the service.
* Safeguarding checks will be undertaken for the successful candidate in line with our safer recruitment policy, including an Enhanced DBS check (at no cost to yourself).


Qualifications & Experience

* QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (completed).
* Significant residential or community care experience supporting vulnerable individuals.
* Experience of writing behaviour support plans and risk assessments.
* Experience of providing regular, motivating supervision and development targets that bring.
* IT skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Knowledge of the policy framework for adult services and CQC regulations, along with knowledge of the Social Model of Disability and issues relating to vulnerable adults.
* Experience in supporting and coaching staff, and nurturing team development.
* Experience managing difficult and challenging situations while maintaining high standards of care and support.
* Ability to make a direct positive impact on the lives of the adults and their families.
