Assistant Cost Manager - Eltham
We have a great opportunity for a keen and pro-active Assistant Cost Manager to join our Eltham team, with the potential for hybrid working. You'll play a key role in assisting to administer target cost models across projects through auditing and acting as a trusted adviser to clients providing strategic insights relating to cost management.
You will be working as part of a team to support a positive and successful partnership for clients and contractors. This role will give you the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including residential and social housing.

Responsibilities include:
* Assisting Senior Cost Managers and Commercial Directors on key accounts.
* Assisting in administering target cost model across projects, ensuring robust cost planning, risk management and commercial governance.
* Assisting in preparing tender documents, examining tenders received and reporting on or negotiating tenders and pricing.
* Preparing budget estimates and cost planning
* Assisting with interim payment recommendations, assess projected final costs, measure work, adjust variations per contract terms, and prepare and agree on the final account with the Contractor.
* Assisting in conducting commercial assessments and audits.
* Providing strategic insights and support on cost, value, process and risk
* Assisting in providing strategic cost management services and advice and reporting to clients
* Assisting in producing detailed reports utilising Excel, Power BI and other software's.
* Day to day management and execution of project work.
* Assisting on projects as directed.
Ideally you will:
* Have a Post Graduate with BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying Degree or recognised equivalent qualification.
* Be actively working towards and committed to obtaining full membership of the RICS
* Expereince as a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy and/or contractor environment
* Have excellent interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail
* Have a proactive approach to problem solving
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Understanding of Quantity Surveying practices, procurements and contractual delivery approaches or a willingness to learn
* Strong understanding and skilled in respect of a Target Cost Model approach and collaborative contracting or a willingness to learn
