Robert Half is partnering a fast growing construction company in Middleton in the appointment of a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor. If you have a strong track record in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, this is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget.
What You'll Do
1. Oversee all commercial aspects of assigned construction projects
2. Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
3. Review, negotiate, and manage contracts and subcontracts
4. Carry out valuations, variations, and final account preparation
5. Provide clear cost reporting and financial forecasting
6. Manage subcontractor procurement and payments
7. Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks
8. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
9. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners
10. Support and mentor junior commercial staff
11. Collaborate effectively with project managers, site teams, and senior leadership
What We're Looking For
12. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior level
13. Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
14. Full UK Driving Licence
15. Confident in client and supply chain engagement
16. Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
17. Team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
18. Commutable to Middleton, Manchester, and happy to work office/site based 5 days per week
