ROLE: Cleaning Operative
HOURS: 16 Hours/Week.
LOCATION: HMP Millsike

We're looking for a Cleaning Operative who will support the vision for HMP Millsike as a place of restoration and rehabilitation, helping to maintain a safe, clean, and uplifting environment for prisoners and staff.
Role Responsibilities
1. Carry out cleaning tasks to a high standard, ensuring all areas of the establishment remain clean, hygienic, and presentable.
2. Stock and maintain supply rooms, ensuring all materials are stored appropriately and available when required.
3. Follow Health & Safety and COSHH regulations, including disinfecting and deep cleaning tasks when necessary.
4. Report any incidents, defects, or dangers to the supervisor promptly and accurately.
5. Maintain a strong focus on health and safety in all work undertaken.
Required Qualifications (applicants must meet the below defined requirements)
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to represent the service professionally in every task attended.
8. A proactive, self‑motivated attitude with the ability to use initiative.
9. Flexibility within contracted hours and commitment to a strong ‘can do' approach.
10. High moral standards and absolute integrity, suitable for working in a secure environment.
(A background in cleaning is advantageous, but full training will be provided.)
