Course Summary
This new Apprentice Standard is for people who supervise teams in a variety of kitchen environments, for example; schools, hospitals, the Armed Forces, care homes and high street casual dining or pub kitchens.
Job roles include Head chef, Second Chef, Kitchen Manager / Supervisor, Cook. Senior production chefs have accountability for the day-to-day running of the kitchen service, producing, monitoring and maintaining consistent food standards, legislative requirements and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and supply.
The course lasts 12-18 months.
Students will be at the College 1 day a week to evidence the 20% off job with evidenced employer training alongside.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
There are three end-point assessment activities for the Senior Production Chef and these can take place in any order. All assessment activities must be completed within a three-month end-point assessment window. This end-point assessment window begins when the EPAO confirms that the apprentice has successfully passed through the gateway.
Entry requirements
Employed in relevant Job role • Maths and English grade 4 or above or the equivalent. • Successful interview at CRC Remember, an apprenticeship is a job so the hiring employer may have additional criteria that will have to be met alongside CRC’s entry criteria.
