Grade: G7
Type: Fixed term until 31 st March 2027
Part time: 4 days a week (28.96 hours a week)
Salary: £32,654 PA (Pro rata £26,123.20) (Pay Award Pending)

The Project Officer will be a member of the dynamic Public Health team. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in Public Health, who is organised and can demonstrate the ability to build relationships with multi-agency partners. They must be able to communicate complex issues clearly, show resilience, and approach problem solving and challenges strategically.
About The Role
The role will provide project management and additional capacity to support the Wider Determinants function within the Public Health team. Types of duties may include;
* Supporting with reviewing and responding to planning and licensing applications, including supporting the Wider Determinants Lead with preparing for appeals and hearings, where appropriate.
* Working with and supporting internal Planning and Licensing teams on various strategic projects.
* Supporting the Walsall Gambling Harms Partnership (WGHP), including new and ongoing initiatives to strategically reduce gambling harms across the borough.
* Attending meetings and being a public health conduit with other key teams, networks and boards - including, but not limited to topics such as, Regeneration, Employment and Skills, Housing, Debt, Climate Change
More generally, the role will also entail;
* Reviewing Heath Impact Assessments
* Contributing to the development of projects, including monitoring, and reviewing projects to meet changing needs and demands.
* Enhancing and amending internal processes
* Supporting with conducting literature reviews and supporting the development of public consultations
* Providing project and administrative support
The role requires experience of working in a role that aims to improve population level health (e.g. in a public health role, health role, health improvement, or wider-determinants of health role), or similar. The candidate should also have experience managing projects.
