SEND Maths Teacher North Tyneside £120 per day (PRE-AWR) September Start - Full Time The School and Role About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEND Maths Teacher to join our dedicated team in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting. The successful candidate will deliver tailored maths lessons to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties, across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a crucial role in re-engaging students with education, building their confidence, and supporting them to achieve meaningful academic progress. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated maths lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH and additional learning needs Use a trauma-informed and relationship-based approach to support students’ emotional regulation and classroom engagement Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment Contribute to the development and review of personalised learning plans (EHCPs), behaviour support plans, and risk assessments Track pupil progress and provide regular feedback in line with school policy Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies to support student development both academically and socially Support whole-school initiatives aimed at improving behaviour, attendance, and emotional well-being Person Specification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification Experience teaching maths, ideally in a SEND or SEMH environment Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the impact of SEMH on learning Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills Flexible, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team About us We are a market-leading education supply agency committed to the development of young people.
