About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll deliver the quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. You will embody our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers.
When not on deliveries, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the shop's efficient and friendly operation. Due to the role's nature, applicants must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
You will typically start your day in-store and be responsible for:
1. Checking your delivery routes for the day.
2. Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery to customers.
3. Completing vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance, and adhering to health and safety standards.
4. Representing the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service on the road.
5. Assisting customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
6. Supporting the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills and experience
* Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, such as lifting crates and moving cages.
* Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and adaptable.
* IT literacy.
Desirable skills and experience
* Previous driving experience, especially with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
