Overview As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve departmental targets, uphold a high standard of customer service, and drive continuous improvement across sales operations. You will set up daily sales operations, evaluate leads, develop team members, and ensure efficient flow within the showroom. What Youll Be Doing Day-to-Day: Organise the team each morning for the days trade, assigning roles based on team strengths and specific sales targets. Review and dissect incoming leads to ensure they are allocated and handled effectively by the sales team. Conduct side-by-side training sessions to coach and develop sales staff, ensuring skills growth and customer service excellence. Ensure all daily reports are current and accurate, review customer offers and approve or advise on necessary adjustments. Ensure bikes ready for sale are booked and processed efficiently, managing showroom flow to optimize sales and customer experience. Track upsells, ensuring that profit per unit is maximized. Oversee showroom display flow, promotional placements, and ensure proper organization of point-of-sale items. Create team rotas considering peak times, scheduled days off, and holidays to ensure sufficient coverage at all times. Track and analyse cancellations, implementing changes where needed to reduce their occurrence. Responsibility for Finance Sales and administration and FCA-related responsibilities, along with associated duties set out in the updated job description. Oversight and resolution where possible of first-line customer care within the branch. Close working with the proposed Transaction Manager and with Sales Executives to ensure customer balances are paid and customer handover/collections are planned. What Were Looking For: Essential: Proven experience in a sales environment, ideally within the automotive sector, with a record of delivering targets while maintaining customer satisfaction. Familiarity with motorcycles is preferred, along with comfort handling motorcycles within a busy showroom setting. Strong leadership, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to manage schedules, reports, and communication within the team. Professional approach to work and when dealing with internal and external customers. Passionate about customer experience and results. Confident communicator with a persuasive yet friendly style. The role holder must have the ability to work unsupervised with good time management skills in order to meet tight deadlines, ensure at all times in a fast paced, pressurized and challenging environment.
