Job Description
Carnival UK is in search of a Server & Storage Engineering Team Leader, who is crucial in supporting our technological direction and nurturing a high‑performing team. The Engineering Team Leader will take responsibility for deploying, configuring, and operating IT Infrastructure platforms hosted on our ship and shore locations, leading the planning, implementation and optimisation of the technologies and processes used to maintain Infrastructure platforms, encompassing hypervisors, data storage, installing, testing, or decommissioning and removing systems or system components.
Responsibilities
* Investigate and manage the adoption of tools, techniques, and processes (including automation) for the management of systems and services.
* Lead, guide and mentor a team of engineers, and act as an escalation point for colleagues across the Technology department.
* Ensure that operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date, ensuring that operational issues are identified, recorded, monitored, and resolved. Provide appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users, and managers.
* Develop standards and guidelines for implementing data protection and disaster recovery functionality for all business applications and business data.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Lead and develop a squad of engineers, providing clear priorities, coaching, and career growth, while modelling our ‘Empowers’ and ‘Communicates’ behaviours.
* Create an inclusive, growth‑focused team culture where people do their best work.
* Strong experience with Storage Area Networks.
* Experience with automation systems such as Ansible, Terraform or VMware Aria.
* Worked extensively with Kubernetes.
* Demonstrated experience in DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipeline management, infrastructure as code, and collaborative cross‑functional delivery.
* Proven ability to drive continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring practices that enhance reliability, scalability, and efficiency across IT platforms.
