Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant
Location: Near St Austell
Salary: up to £13.25 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, to 3:00 pm Temp to Perm
We are recruiting a Quality Assurance (QA) for our food manufacturing client near St Austell.
The Role
You will be a vital part of their technical team, monitoring and verifying all food safety, legality, and quality procedures across the processing facility. This is a hands-on role where you will be instrumental in ensuring every product that leaves our site meets both customer specifications and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting regular monitoring and verification checks throughout the factory, including temperature controls, Critical Control Points (CCPs), and pre-requisite requirements.
* Inspecting raw materials upon intake, through processing, and as a final product to ensure they meet quality parameters and customer specifications.
* Completing and verifying all quality control and production paperwork accurately.
* Enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene rules, and health and safety standards within the factory environment.
* Assisting with internal audits and preparation for third-party and customer audits (e.g., BRC, MSC/ASC certification bodies).
* Investigating non-conformances and customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and documenting corrective and preventative actions.
* Promoting a strong quality and hygiene awareness culture among all production employees.
* Assisting in the development and review of quality control policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within the food manufacturing is highly advantageous.
* Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and food hygiene regulations.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to report findings clearly and effectively to all levels of staff.
* A self-motivated and inquiring mind, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in standard computer software for recording data and writing reports.
