Job Overview
1. Access Control Security officer role are responsible for protecting the BBC property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes
Access Control Security officers works in a range of environments and various roles/positions to meet contractual expectation of the client. This means ensuring that we continue to offer innovative services to our clients which positively contribute to providing a safe environment for customers, visitors, contractors and colleagues.
Access Control Officer 42 hours a week 4 on 4 on Days and Nights.
Payrate: £13.32 per hour.
Main Duties
Operations
Access control (Access and Egress of staff, contractors and visitors/contributors)Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from visitor/members of public.Proactively liaising with staff, visitors and contractors at the reception area.Always cordial when on duty and willing to assist with any inquiries from staff, visitors and contractors.To respond to all incidents and follow escalation proceduresAbility to deliver a clear and concise incident report.Attendance of first aid incidents/any other form of incidents as required.Ensuring company dress code is up to a high standard at all time.#To have a thorough knowledge of routine and emergency procedures and be able to respond efficiently, and appropriately, to any eventualityEnsuring Time Keeping and attendance is of high standard (Officer is expected to be in full uniform with licences fifteen minutes before the start of the shift)To be aware of Hostile Reconnaissance techniques that may be employed against the BBC building/s or occupants therein and to be vigilant at all times.Operate a safe working environment in line with company risk assessments and assignment instructionsEnsuring incident are reported on a timely and accurate mannerMaintain all required records as directed by line management to ensure that full transparency of events and their handling is possibleOfficers are expected to perform and conduct themselves, in line with company policies and proceduresObtain assistance by sounding alarms/Radio communicationCollaboratively working with colleagues to ensure delivery of service expectations of BBCKeeping yourself informed of best practice for Security industryEffective communication with the Team Leader and ManagementAny other security duties directed by the business or client that falls within your level of training and licensingAnd any other reasonable request from the management team.Understanding the principle of equality and diversity in relations to visitor's needs
Training
2. Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
3. To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
4. Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
5. You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
6. Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
7. Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
8. Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
9. To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
10. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
11. Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
12. To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
13. To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
