Estates Management Surveyor (Interim)Temporary 16 Weeks (Initial) Inside IR35Location: County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight (Agile/Remote Working)Start Date: 2 March 2026Hours: 37 per week (Full or Part-Time Considered)Rates:PAYE: £267.42 per dayUmbrella/Ltd: £357.85 per dayRibble Recruitment is supporting the hiring organisation with candidate sourcing, screening, and the initial stages of this recruitment process.The OpportunityWe are recruiting an experienced Estates Management Surveyor to support a busy Strategic Assets team within a local authority environment.This interim assignment will focus initially on clearing a backlog of rent reviews and lease renewals, alongside broader landlord and tenant estates management responsibilities across a large and diverse public sector portfolio.This is a high-profile role requiring strong professional judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities within a complex stakeholder environment.The PortfolioThe estate includes approximately 800 assets, including:Offices and operational buildingsSchools, leisure centres and librariesCare homes and family centresHeritage assets and community facilitiesCommercial investments including industrial units, leases, restaurants and tourism concessionsThe portfolio combines operational, community and commercial assets, requiring broad General Practice expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of landlord and tenant matters including rent reviews and lease renewalsProvide professional property management advice across the commercial estateOversee rental income and service charge processesNegotiate with tenants on assignments, subletting and lease mattersSupport acquisitions, disposals and regeneration-related property mattersMaintain accurate property records and databasesLiaise with legal services and other internal departments on property transactionsSupport delivery of strategic asset management objectivesAssist in providing valuation and market-based adviceEnsure compliance with professional standards and statutory obligationsEssential ExperienceProven estates/property management experience within a public or commercial portfolioStrong landlord and tenant expertise, including lease renewals and rent reviewsExperience negotiating with tenants and resolving property-related issuesAbility to manage rental income and service charge processesStrong understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirementsExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsStrong ICT capability including Microsoft OfficeDesirableRICS qualification (or working towards)Experience within a local authority or public sector estateExperience providing valuation advice and market analysisKnowledge of property databases and asset management systemsWorking ArrangementsAgile working environmentIsland-based candidates preferred, though remote working is supportedAttendance on the Island required as operationally necessaryInitial 16-week contract with potential for extension
