Role
As an Engineering Manager at Howden, you will lead two agile teams. You will utilize your people-first approach and agile coaching to help our teams grow and achieve high performance.
You will participate in regular agile sessions, collaborating closely with your team to deliver our roadmap. You will support each engineer (typically around 10 direct reports) in their growth, resilience, problem-solving, and training needs, while promoting best practices.
This role is suited for technical people leaders; no direct coding is required.
As part of our leadership team and reporting to the Head of Web Development, you will facilitate leadership and community of practice sessions in disciplines such as UI/UX or QA, foster cross-team collaboration, and support hiring across the group.

* Proven people leadership skills and the ability to motivate and measure team performance.
* Attention to detail and a focus on user-centric design.
* Knowledge of accessibility standards and requirements.
* Experience with Test-driven Development and group programming activities.
* Strong understanding of Azure Cloud technologies.
* Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback.
* A bias toward action and a scientific, data-driven decision-making approach.
* Familiarity with agile methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban.
* Experience with continuous delivery practices and iterative development (CI/CD).
* Focus on observability and monitoring capabilities.
* Previous experience in people leadership and agile coaching.
