Introduction
We require a Quality Engineer to join our busy Quality department at our site in Abercynon, South Wales.
The primary purpose of this role is:
1. To monitor the effectiveness of the relevant sections of the Quality Management System (QMS) through the monitoring of KPI’s and the application of systems and audits.
2. To support in the creation of robust processes including the generation of Control Plans, measurement standards and the root cause analysis of non-conformances.
3. To provide an interface between the Customer / Supplier and the internal departments.
Key Responsibilities include:
4. Monitoring and supporting the implementation of containment for parts and corrective actions and reporting any issues.
5. Working with the manufacturing teams to ensure that processes have robust quality controls, PFMEA, and documented control plans.
6. Conducting product, process and system audits as required.
7. Dealing with customer queries / complaints for the Machine Shop Manufacturing area.
8. Participating in the 8D review meetings.
9. Participating & helping facilitate the QCPC meetings.
10. Monitoring performance trends in the Machine Shop areas and providing information with regards to scrap, MRB status and feedback on the status of any customer / Supplier concerns identified.
11. Supporting the continued development of the QMS.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Skills and experience required
12. An understanding of quality management tools.
13. The ability to identify potential quality improvement activities.
14. The ability to read engineering drawings.
15. An understanding of the requirements of a robust manufacturing QMS.
16. The ability to analyse data and generate reports and presentations.
17. Experience in conducting system and process audits.
18. A background in CNC Machining.
19. The ability to manage customer queries / complaints for Machine Shop Manufacturing area.
20. Knowledge or Ability to use a Manual Lathe and Milling Machine.
21. Previous knowledge of using a CMM Measuring DevicePrevious experience of design measurement gauges.
22. Previous knowledge of hardness testing.
23. Knowledge and use of measuring equipment such as Profile 50 / Shadow Graph (or similar).
