Responsibilities
* Carry out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures.
* Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults and repairing during incidents.
* Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
* Work on a range of equipment such as pumps, control gear, 3‑phase motors, starters, VSDs, automatic valves, penstocks, flow/level/pressure measurement equipment, PLCs, variable speed drives, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
* Participate in a standby rota following relevant training.

Working Pattern
38 hours Monday‑Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities that can increase earnings by up to £8 000‑£10 000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.
* Upskilling in mechanical NVQ 2/3 crucial.
* Time‑served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems working in a “true multi‑skilled” capacity.
* Mechanical qualification allowing inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modification or repair of mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
* For individuals with only mechanical or electrical experience, development to dual‑skilled status will be considered.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues.
* Physical fitness to work in confined spaces; successful completion of appropriate training required.
* Valid driving licence; vehicle and tools provided.
Equipment and Tools
All PPE, tools and a company van are provided.
