Repairs Manager
Location: Livingston. Hours: 36 hours per week (Mon-Fri). Role type: 3-month temporary (potential to be extended or made permanent).
Salary: £48,600 - 54,000 DOE.
We’re seeking an experienced Repairs Manager to lead a high-performing reactive repairs service within a social housing environment. This is a key leadership role focused on delivering safe, compliant, and customer-focused maintenance services while driving continuous improvement.
As Repairs Manager, you’ll take ownership of the reactive repairs and maintenance service, leading a team and working collaboratively across the organisation to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes for residents.
You’ll be a key decision-maker, influencing operational and strategic direction, while ensuring performance, safety, and customer satisfaction remain at the heart of everything you do.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the reactive repairs service, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
* Line manage and develop the team to achieve performance targets and KPIs
* Oversee contractor performance, budgets, and compliance
* Monitor service performance (e.g. response times, first-time fix, costs)
* Provide technical expertise on building maintenance and compliance
* Manage complex repairs issues, risk, and escalated complaints
* Ensure accurate reporting, governance, and audit readiness
About You
* Degree (or equivalent) in a building‑related discipline
* Proven experience in housing/property repairs management
* Strong knowledge of building maintenance, compliance, and legislation
* Experience managing teams, budgets, and contractors
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong IT skills and experience with reporting systems
Additional Info
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle required
* Travel across sites and occasional lone working
