Prestigious Design & Manufacturer based in Nailsea are seeking an experienced CAD Designer/Engineer to provide internal design and engineering support in the manufacturing of engineered cases/foam products.
Responsible to the Engineering Manager, the CAD Designer/Engineer will have at least 3 years' industrial experience preferably within a design/engineering/manufacturing processes background and IT skills to include CAD design packages such as Autocad/Inventor/Solid Edge.
Working within a systematic task driven framework, the successful CAD designer/Engineer will be responsible for operating within BSEN ISO 9001 quality standards and compliance. As a key member of a close-knit, friendly team, a flexible, supportive, "Can do" attitude is essential.
Responsibilities
* Generation of 2D designs and or 3D models based upon a customer's requirements: designs that are innovative and efficient and issue for and gain approval of the design
* Confirm or re-specify the outer containment requirements and advise sales accordingly if a re-quote is necessary
* Measure and record information with accuracy
* Liaise internally to determine best manufacturing practices commensurate with cost and quality
* Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings and "Bill of Materials" as is deemed appropriate
* Supply supporting information to support the conversion of a design into a finished product
* Generation of designs of manufacturing aids in the form of jigs/fixtures and special tooling
* Assist the Quality Control Inspector in the validation and acceptance of jigs/fixtures and tooling
* Work Maintain your workplace in a clean, tidy state commensurate with working efficiently and that enables your colleagues during time of absence to readily locate correspondence/files
* Attend training courses as required to maintain product knowledge and operational competence
Skills and experience required
* AutoCAD 2D /3D Solid Works
* Able to work at detail level across numerous projects and meet customer related timelines
* At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
* Nationally recognised qualification in Mechanical/Production Engineering
* Understanding of Manufacturing Equipment and Processes
* Understanding of Quality Assurance System and Procedures
* Excellent organisation, planning and time management
* A confident communicator, confidential and intuitive
* Adaptable with good problem-solving skills
* A 'Can do' attitude demonstrated in a challenging manufacturing environment
* Pro-active with the ability to use own initiative and make decisions where required
* Flexible, calm and efficient with a cheerful personality, even when busy
* Reliable, trustworthy and confidential

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
