Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing)
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + company car / fuel / benefits package
Overview: Lead all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple projects within a leading Construction Company's Building Maintenance department. Focus on maximising profitability, ensuring legal and contractual compliance, and managing all commercial issues proactively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial reports, cost control, and cash collection. Provide strategic insights to maximise profitability.
2. Contract Administration: Administer contracts, negotiate variations, and ensure contractual obligations are met to minimise legal risks.
3. Procurement and Tendering: Oversee procurement processes, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors and suppliers for value and strategy alignment.
4. Cost Valuation and Reporting: Conduct valuations, manage payments, and prepare final accounts. Ensure accurate financial reporting and risk/opportunity identification.
5. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks to safeguard the company's interests.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree qualified or relevant qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in senior roles overseeing high-value projects
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices
* Advanced knowledge of contract law, building regulations, and health and safety
* Excellent commercial skills and experience with complex financial reporting
* Social Housing or maintenance background preferred
* Good IT skills, strong communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities
* Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
