Join University of Cambridge to apply for the Janeway Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (Research Assistant or Research Associate) (Fixed Term). The Fellowship is a 3‑year fixed‑term position based at the Janeway Institute in the Faculty of Economics.
Scope of research
The Fellowship is open to candidates working on economics related to networks, crowds and markets. This includes, but is not limited to, research into the dynamics of networks, the relationship between markets, states and community networks, traditional communities, bargaining, production, and exchange in networks, and the implications for industrial policy and market regulation.
Eligibility
* Recently awarded a doctoral degree, or expected to receive the degree by September 2026.
* Demonstrated ability to develop own research ideas and contribute to the networks, crowds and markets group.
Duration and salary
The Fellowship is for three years. Salary follows the University Grade system:
* Until completion of the PhD (if not yet awarded by September 2026) – Grade 5, spine point 38 (£34,610 per annum).
* After completion of the PhD – Grade 7, spine point 41 (£37,694 per annum) in Year 1, spine point 42 (£38,784) in Year 2, and spine point 43 (£39,906) in Year 3.
Teaching and other opportunities
Limited teaching opportunities are available through the Janeway Teaching Fellowships for those interested in gaining experience. Additional remuneration can be discussed during the interview process. Fellows may also join a college.
