Job Description
Supervising Social Worker – Permanent, Full Time – Regionally based across North Sussex, Surrey and Kent. 37.5 hours per week. Salary £36,000 – £46,000 (dependent on experience) plus £3,000 car allowance.
This role supports children and young people by securing safe foster homes and supervising/fostering carers across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. It is a home‑based role with one office day per week.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and advise foster carers, ensuring they have the support needed to thrive.
- Visit homes, maintain regular contact with carers and young people, and act as a safeguarding champion.
- Collaborate with specialist clinical teams to arrange appropriate support such as occupational or art therapy.
- Manage caseloads to maintain quality and risk standards.
- Provide training and development to carers to enhance their confidence and practice.
Qualifications
- BA or MA degree in social work.
- Registered with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
- Previous social work experience with young people who have histories of trauma and enhanced needs.
- Confidence, imagination and an energetic, open‑minded approach.
