Occupational Therapist – Band 6 (Stroke Care)

We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our expanding team in Worcestershire, delivering high-quality community stroke care. The role is part of a period of transformation to roll out the ICSS model, and requires a team player with strong communication skills.
Main duties
• Undertake comprehensive assessments of mild, moderate and severe stroke patients, including those with multiple pathologies, using specialist OT assessment tools.
• Formulate individual rehabilitation programmes, setting realistic, patient-led goals, and utilise a range of treatment skills.
• Provide support and education to carers and families.
• Attend weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and set goals.
• Liaise with other health-care professionals within the Trust and surrounding borders.
• Support patients in practising personalised rehab programmes to promote independence.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience working with stroke patients.
* Extensive clinical experience – individual and/or group work.
* Diploma / degree in OT.
* Post‑graduate training relevant to OT stroke care.
* Fieldwork educator qualification within one year of appointment.
* State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Ability to provide original certificates when required.
Knowledge and skills
* Knowledge of Bobath introductory modules.
* Knowledge of Harrison Perception & Cognition for Healthcare professionals.
* Knowledge of BrainTree Training cognitive workshops.
