Anglian Water offers a flexible approach; this role offers you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. We are building new teams both in Lincoln and Peterborough, so based location would be Thorpewood House in Peterborough or Enterprise House in Lincoln.
Central Services is a newly formed team at Anglian Water, committed to delivering safe, professional, collaborative and cost-effective maintenance and engineering support across the business. What you'll be doing?
As a Cost Analyst, you will support the financial, commercial, and performance management of capital projects and planned programmes of work. You'll assist the Commercial and Cost Mangers in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, ensuring supplier payments and Purchase-to-Pay processes are accurate and compliant.
You will support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities, providing accurate and timely insight into costs, risks, and opportunities. This includes applying commercial challenge to pricing, variations, and ad-hoc services to ensure value for money across the portfolio of works.
In this role, you will monitor contractor and project performance, contribute to KPI reporting, audits, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed programme, cost, and service expectations. You'll also play a key part in supporting health and safety compliance across the portfolio while maintaining accurate records for reporting, audits, and commercial assurance.
Additional responsibilities include preparing performance and financial information for stakeholder review meetings, supporting commercial assurance processes, and ensuring supplier payments are made in line with contractual agreements. You will help monitor supplier performance against KPIs, manage contract variations, and maintain accurate asset and cost data, all while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements.

What does it take to be a Cost Analyst?
* Experience in similar Commercial / Contract Management related role
* Understanding of Commercial Contract Management: service level agreements; pricing schedules & rate cards; risk/reward mechanisms; negotiations - desirable
* Understanding of NEC form of contracts - desirable
* Degree qualification e.g Quantity Surveying or Finance - desirable
* Working towards professional body membership e.g. RICS; CIOB, ICE - desirable
* High degree of numeracy and financial acumen
* Understanding of the Financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, reporting) - desirable
* Familiarity with the (P2P) transactional processes: PR, PO, GRN, AP - desirable
* Previous experience in engaging with stakeholders - desirable
* Relevant Health & Safety knowledge / qualification - desirable
* Sourcing & Procurement process knowledge
* Knowledge of relevant SAP processes - desirable
* A proven track record in assisting managing costs at project level - desirable
* High Proficiency on MS Office especially excel
