Offer description

We are looking for new support workers to expand our provision at Live, this will be with a focus on the Adapted Cycling Project as well as chance to work across projects such as Transition & Prep for Adulthood, Daytime, Play, Holiday Club, Member drop-in sessions, Youth Action and Socials.

You will be fun, energetic, and will enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions and is passionate about empowering people with disabilities to experience the joy and independence cycling can bring. A true people person with a high degree of creativity, empathy, and fantastic communication skills, you will advocate for cycling as a form of transport, sport, leisure, and a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You'll bring experience in cycling, sports and fitness coaching, outdoor education, youth work, health and social care, childcare, or education, and thrive in a person-centred, busy, and diverse environment.

Flexibility, the ability to prioritise, patience, and a great sense of humour are essential qualities for success in this role.

24 hours per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (09:30-15:30)

* Take a pro-active & person-centred approach to support
* Encourage & support members' full participation & involve them in planning, monitoring & evaluation
* Encourage and maximise opportunities to develop independence in all tasks & activities
* Assist with the running of effective Park Ride drop-in sessions for walk up customers and online bookings
* Work collaboratively with Live Cycle Session Lead to generate new customers
* Help with delivering in-house sessions for Live groups, in collaboration with Live colleagues
* Communicate and liaise effectively with members, clients, parents & carers, partners & public
* Provide emergency first aid (following training) and seek prompt medical help as required
* Provide additional support prescribed by nature of disability, or as outlined within Care Plans / EHCPs
* Assist in devising personalised programmes and facilitating planned activities
* Support, represent & empower members without judgement or opinion, defend & safeguard their rights
* Advocate, ensure member views & wishes are genuinely considered when decisions are being made
* Demonstrate consistent confidentiality in all matters
* Work flexibly as part of a team, sharing ideas and experiences
* Attend and contribute fully to daily debrief, weekly whole staff meetings & 1:1 supervision session
* Undertake any CPD training required
* Assist the Senior Management Team in maintaining a professional environment
* Any other duties commensurate with the role and reasonably requested managers in pursuit of Live goals

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
