Overview
We are looking for Bank Support Workers who have a caring, person‑centred approach and excellent communication skills. You must work autonomously as well as part of a team, be reliable, honest, and respectful of privacy and confidentiality.
Applicants must have a minimum of 6 to 12 months of previous care experience and be able to support people with complex clinical needs. The position provides training to help you deliver high‑quality care to two young women living independently in the North East.

Main Duties of the Job
Support two inspiring young women with complex medical needs:
* Support a young lady with Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy who will soon begin her PhD. Duties include overnight personal care, medication administration, and complex clinical care.
* Support a 24‑year‑old student with Hypermobile Ehlers‑Danlos Syndrome and Autism who uses a wheelchair and PEG. Duties include PEG care, some personal care, accompaniment to university and social activities, and general support.
Key Responsibilities
Support Duties
* Provide safe, personal‑centred support in line with individual Care Plans.
* Deliver personal care, medication support, daily living tasks, move handling, finance management, nursing care, and cognitive rehabilitation as required.
* Maintain an open‑minded, flexible, and considerate approach to all Service Users.
* Work in an anti‑discriminatory manner respecting lifestyle, values, customs, and beliefs.
* Encourage and enable Service Users to achieve personal goals such as improved wellbeing, independence, and appropriate behaviour.
* Respect Service User decisions and maintain dignity in all care activities.
* Ensure confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
* Follow safeguarding guidelines and raise any concerns promptly.
* Collaborate with Specialist Support Coordinators to review and update Care Plans.
Admin & Communication
* Communicate clearly, adapting your approach to individual Service Users and their families or next of kin.
* Submit accurate session logs and other required documents by email.
* Attend regular team meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required.
* Check in/out of sessions via text message.
* Maintain regular contact with the Case Coordinator and office staff via text and email.
* Complete incident and accident forms, MAR charts, finance records, handover sheets, annual leave requests, and timesheets.
General Requirements
* Be responsible for your own transport arrangements, including insurance, MOT, and tax.
* Act professionally, maintaining a respectful image at all times.
* Manage your own diary, rota checks, and confirm supports scheduled.
* Undertake additional duties or training as directed to meet role requirements.
What a Support Session Looks Like
Our support package is person‑centred and unique to each Service User. Types of support include personal care (bath, dressing, toileting), medication support, daily living tasks (meal preparation, feeding, shopping), moving and handling, financial management, nursing care (tracheostomy, ventilator, PEG care), and cognitive rehabilitation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Health and Social Care related qualification or training.
* Psychology qualification.
* Level 2 English and Maths qualification (or equivalent).
Experience
* Experience is not essential as full training is provided.
* Experience working within a community setting.
* Personal, voluntary or work‑related experience with adults with disabilities, complex care needs, and/or communication difficulties.
* Knowledge and understanding of the needs of adults with disabilities, complex care needs, and/or communication difficulties.
