Wexham Park Hospital – 12-Month Secondment
Ward 4 Cardiology
Ward 4 is a 34-bedded unit, split between cardiology step-down patients and general medicine. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to join our dedicated team on a 12-month secondment.
Role Overview
You will work within a flexible shift pattern, including early, late, night and long-day shifts. In this role, you will:
Co-ordinate shifts with a team of staff nurses and care assistants.
Provide clinical leadership for a defined group of patients.
Take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating safe, high-quality patient care.
Support the Unit Manager in the day-to-day running of the ward.
Develop, support and manage a team of nurses to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
What We Are Looking For
A committed and compassionate nurse with proven clinical experience.
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic ward environment, balancing cardiology step-down and general medical needs.
This secondment is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills and broaden your clinical experience in a supportive environment.
Main duties of the job
As a sister/charge nurse, you should have strong people skills and a keen interest in caring for cardiac patients
You will collaborate with the ward manager to facilitate the delivery of high-quality patient care
You will also work with the practice development sister in the training and development of staff and be involved in raising the profile of the speciality
You must have experience with cardiac patients, relevant knowledge and skills from an acute cardiac setting, recent professional development, and use of evidence-based practice - all essential for this position.
