Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences within this Country pub with an excellent reputation, both locally and further afield.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to high-quality food production, along with a strong understanding of food safety. As Head Chef you will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring that our standards for food preparation and presentation are consistently met.
Working alongside the very experienced Chef/Landlord the position would suit a sous chef seeking their first head chef's position who would like a role that will grow in the future as the business grows.
The business operates 5 days per week and Kitchen staff do 4 day weeks with 3 days off
Duties
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
* Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
* Collaborate with management to optimise kitchen operations and improve efficiency.
* Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
* Engage with guests to understand their dining preferences and enhance their experience.
Requirements
* Proven supervisory experience in a professional kitchen environment.
* Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary arts.
* Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
* Proficiency in cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
* Previous experience in a restaurant/pub setting is essential.
* Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on maintaining high standards of service.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is crucial.
