Financial Data Researcher - Mutual Funds Our client, a leading organization in finance, technology and financial news sector, is looking for a diligent and highly motivated individual to join their dynamic team. This is a temporary contract until the end of Oct 2025 with potential for extension with an immediate start date and would suit a candidate with a strong analytical mind and demonstratable interest in financial markets. The project will involve improving the accuracy, structure and discoverability of fund data across the client internal platform. You will be involved in taking initiative in enhancing how fund relationships are captured and structured in Client server's data models, with an emphasis on improving data quality and downstream user discoverability. The successful candidates should have strong prior experience working with data and performing data manipulations and data quality checks. They should also express strong interest in mutual funds, ETFs, dividends and financial markets in general. Responsibilities: Expanding coverage of key reference data fields for fund entities (e.g., issuer, brand, investment manager etc.). Establishing market-specific fund hierarchy guidelines that reflect legal and regulatory structures across regions. Performing market-based data quality assessments using representative samples and applying consistent cleanup and tagging logic. Sourcing and validating raw data as well as doing data quality checks Reviewing the provided data from the sources and/or publicly available documents and publishing the data on our client's internal software Updating and processing data onto the database adhering to time sensitivity Maintaining and enhancing existing database Building relationships with key market players Applying problem-solving skills to enhance processes and software Take ownership and be proactive with key areas of responsibilities Requirements: Prior experience with mutual funds and/or ETPs in a data, operations, or compliance-related role. Strong understanding of fund legal structures and jurisdictional differences (e.g., UCITS, trusts, SICAVs). A collaborative and detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Practical experience in data research and ability to derive information from public sources Bachelor or/and Master's degree in Finance/Economics or equivalent work experience High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with programming languages is a must. Strong experience with Data quality checks and data manipulation. Knowledge or experience with Corporate Action and ESG is good to have.
