These can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors worldwide.
Role & Responsibilities
* Engineer prototypes for visualization and testing purposes.
* Carry out machining on milling machines and lathes.
* Perform additive manufacturing using available resources.
* Manage outsourcing of complex machining tasks.
* Ensure prototypes are of high quality.
* Support the production of prototype designs based on experimentation results.
* Research alternative solutions and document findings.
* Sourcing components from bill of materials.
* Oversee preparation and finalization of experimental investigations.
* Read and understand risk assessments.
* Prepare labs/workshops with correct materials and equipment.
* Pack away materials and equipment after testing.
* Support experimental investigations by sourcing materials, conducting testing, recording data, and maintaining documentation.
* Analyze and report on experimentation results, including data processing and plotting results in Excel.
* Perform practical work safely, following procedures, ensuring accuracy, and complying with H&S regulations.
* Create method statements and risk assessments for on-site work.
* Create packing lists and source resources.
* Support line manager during industrial visits.
* Manage suppliers to ensure timely, on-budget, and quality delivery of parts.
* Ensure a safe and healthy working environment at Tribosonics.
* Conduct work professionally, maintaining appropriate attire and communication standards.
* Assist with other tasks, including maintaining a safe and clean laboratory and office environment and organizing shipping.
* Contribute to company improvements through active participation in meetings.
You will undertake a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer degree apprenticeship on a Maintenance Technology pathway, gaining a Degree Level 6 qualification in Engineering upon completion.
Initial study at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre in Rotherham, with subsequent attendance one day a week for ongoing knowledge development.
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with start and finish times determined by the employer.
