Location: Salford
Salary: c£42,700.00 – c£61,000.00 per annum
Bonus: c£1,000.00 paid every 3 months (profit-share)
Shifts
* HGV Technician Days/Afters: Alternating shifts
* Week 1: 07:00 – 15:30
* Week 2: 12:30 – 21:00
* 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 08:00 – 12:00 (paid at overtime rate)
* OR Night Shift: Monday to Thursday 20:30 – 07:00
Qualifications
* Ideally you will have HGV-Mechanical qualifications such as IRTEC, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds
* Time-served mechanics with at least five years experience working on HGVs will be considered

The company is well established, operating for nearly 70 years and specializes in commercial vehicle rental. They have 5 rental depots with fully equipped, modern maintenance workshops in the North and South of England, and operate in excess of 2,000 vehicles (of which 1,000 are above 3.5 tons).

Role & Responsibilities
The HGV Technician will inspect, service, repair and test vehicles in a professional and safe manner. You will report to the Workshop Manager, diagnose faults, report findings and perform repairs to current manufacturers’ standards. Knowledge of cranes or hydraulics and experience with tippers, tipper grabs or beaver tails is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Salary Breakdown
Days/Afters (40 hours): £19.54 per hour; £781.60 per week; £40,643.20 per annum. 4 hours @ £29.31 per hour (08:00 – 12:00, 1 in 3 Saturdays) = £1,993.08 per annum. Total earnings: £42,636.28 per annum.
Overtime (non-compulsory):
* Option A: 5 hours/week at £29.31 = £146.55/week → £7,613.? per annum
* Option B: 10 hours/week at £29.31 = £284.50/week → £14,? per annum
Potential earnings (Days/Afters): c£50,000 – £58,000 per annum. Additional overtime may be available before 7:00 am paid at double time (£39.08 per hour).
Night Shift: 40 hours @ £23.85 per hour = £954.00 per week → £49,608.00 per annum. Plus non-compulsory overtime: 6 hours @ £35.78 per hour → £11,161.80 per annum. Potential earnings: £61,000.00 per annum.
