This is a full-time, permanent job offering a salary of up to £65,000 (depending on experience). Role Responsibilities
As Solicitor & Head of Litigation, you will combine hands-on fee earning with strategic departmental leadership across North Yorkshire.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation, civil litigation, property disputes and contentious probate matters
* Achieving and overseeing billing, WIP and performance targets across the department
* Leading, mentoring and developing fee earners and support staff, conducting regular performance reviews
* Driving departmental strategy, compliance and risk management in line with the wider business plan
* Supporting business development and strengthening referral networks across North Yorkshire
* Being a visible leader, setting standards of excellence while continuing to build a strong personal practice
Person Specification
Applications are invited from experienced Litigation Solicitors or Dispute Resolution Solicitors with substantial fee-earning and proven managerial experience. The successful Solicitor & Head of Litigation will demonstrate:
* Extensive experience running a busy litigation caseload independently
* Strong leadership and team management capability
* Commercial awareness with experience monitoring KPIs and departmental profitability
* Excellent communication, organisational and client care skills
* A proactive approach to growth and networking within North Yorkshire
