The Senior Business Analyst will play a central role in collaborating across the Halfords Group to collate requirements and align the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a detailed knowledge of Halfords' business processes and systems.
* Work with stakeholders to establish how best to implement strategy using existing systems or identifying required changes.
* Engage with key business stakeholders to maintain awareness of strategic, tactical, and operational changes that may impact Technology and facilitate business information flow into the Technology team.
* Support the definition, documentation, and continuous improvement of Halfords' Business Analysis methodology.
* Apply standard methodologies for structured Business Analysis engagements, including setting objectives with stakeholders and planning accordingly.
* Employ various tools and techniques such as interviews, surveys, statistical analysis, process analysis and redesign, Lean/Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum, system analysis, and data flow analysis.
* Assess risks, impacts, and dependencies on project delivery and communicate effectively.
* Produce or assist in producing documentation like use cases, requirements documents, gap analysis, process/data flows, reports, and lessons learned.
* Manage requirement changes through effective change control processes.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party suppliers.
* Lead by example, demonstrating proactivity.
* Support Lead BAs in producing Change Definition documents.
* Lead other BAs on assigned tasks.
* Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* Mentor and coach the BA team, supporting Lead BAs.
* Continuously enhance knowledge of Value Streams, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies, promoting these practices within the business.
Key Skills and Experience
* Strong business analysis skills with experience in Agile and traditional SDLC/Waterfall methodologies.
* Ability to engage effectively with management and stakeholders at all levels.
* Awareness of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and data requirements.
* Proficiency in modelling techniques such as business process modelling, UML, user stories, user journeys, API specifications.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, adaptable to different audiences.
* Technical awareness and knowledge.
* Experience in integrated multi-channel retail environments.
* Ability to simplify complex concepts.
* Financial acumen and understanding of financial implications of decisions.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Decision-making capabilities, both independently and collaboratively.
* Negotiation and influencing skills.
* Understanding of line management responsibilities like resource planning, training, and mentoring.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in business analysis on complex projects.
