An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in the AT&C Large Engines Team at Rolls-Royce in Derby.
What you will be doing:
You will provide robust Finance Business Partner support to the Manufacturing Executive of PTF/NEST, along with their first line leadership teams.
Provide advice and challenge to the business to make the right business decisions, providing strategic insight and business acumen to help drive efficiency, cost effectiveness, and maximise working capital across the organisation. The role maintains financial governance and ensures that financial controls are operating effectively for the relevant area.
This role is to be executed whilst adhering to relevant standardised procedures & systems and maintaining/contributing to the required level of functional stewardship.
Responsibilities:
* Become a key member of the PTF/NEST leadership team. Provide information, insight and challenge to the wider teams, pro-actively drive the business to achieve strong financial performance in line with forecasts and longer-term plans
* Translate strategy into financial plans that improve business performance, and co-ordinate financial forecasts across the applicable plants, ensuring target adherence
* Coaching Manufacturing and functional leadership (and their teams) to improve financial acumen, and promote a cost-conscious culture - creating a clear link from local actions into product unit cost (ESV), and working capital improvements
* Be a champion for cost engagement across the site(s); ensuring that regular cost reviews & idea generation are held; P&L status is understood to ensure key levers behind actuals and forecasts are recognised, as well as major risks identified/mitigated, and opportunities highlighted & maximised
* Provide robust review of actuals against forecasts to provide insightful commentary, identifying trends, and ensuring any corrective actions required by the Manufacturing & Functional leadership teams are identified and prioritised
* Ensure that management information and insights can be relied upon, and robust governance & stewardship is achieved
* Provide support where any site business continuity and risk management actions require inputs
* Provide financial & business advice to the business in raising capital schemes; ensure that capital is appropriately planned, and business cases are sound and adhere to the appropriate governance
* Ensure strategic change proposals and business cases for plant investments are assessed with a strong financial & business lens; work with MBU strategy/PM teams to ensure that appropriate financial management and governance is maintained
* Provide leadership support and delegation to the VP in the MBU around key metrics and business requirements
* Work closely with the Man Ops HQ team and EFSC to ensure that appropriate finance support is provided to the sites, including coaching and support to Domestic Analysts; people management of Domestic Analysts including 121s, check ins and development
* Be accountable for effective business & financial controls and compliance for the Site(s), including Blackline, AUC reviews, Impairment reviews
* Work pro-actively and co-lead with Site CoP to simplify/standardise key processes, and share and deploy best knowledge
