Job Title: Walsall Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)
Position Available: 1 full time (37.5 hrs) and 1 part time (22.5 hrs)
Location: Walsall community & Head Office, Sandwell
Salary: £24,310.04 – £27,751.55 FTE; £14,586.02 – £16,650.93 pro rata
Closing date: 06 November 2025

The Role
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will provide high quality frontline support to victims at high risk of harm. This includes assessment of risk, informing victims of options, developing tailored safety plans, and advocating within a multi‑agency framework. You will also empower survivors through one‑to‑one support and group work, helping them to regain control of their lives.
Responsibilities
* Assess level of risk and provide safety planning to victims and their children.
* Inform victims of their options and support them in decision making.
* Advocate for the victim, including responding to and reporting at Multi‑Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC).
* Work within a multi‑agency framework to coordinate support and services.
* Support the empowerment of victims/survivors through individual and group work.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified or unqualified IDVA. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Experience supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse and managing a caseload.
* Good understanding of safeguarding principles for children and adults.
* Knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics and impact on victims.
