We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Wayleave Manager to join a growing development team in the energy sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of large-scale energy projects that are shaping the UK’s transition towards a more sustainable future.
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in managing all property-related matters across the lifecycle of projects — from site identification and acquisition through to delivery. You’ll work closely with landowners, network operators, legal advisors, and internal teams to ensure smooth and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Secure land rights, easements, and access agreements with DNOs, TOs, and other stakeholders.
* Support project teams in acquiring and developing sites for battery, solar, gas, and grid stability projects.
* Oversee property due diligence, ensuring obligations and risks are fully understood.
* Collaborate with legal, engineering, and development teams to align property agreements with technical and commercial needs.
* Manage rent reviews and ongoing landlord relationships.
* Maintain accurate records of agreements, land rights, and obligations in line with regulatory and contractual requirements.
* Build strong relationships with landowners, communities, and network operators.
Skills & Experience
* Proven background in property management or land acquisition within energy, utilities, or infrastructure.
* Strong knowledge of land rights, easements, leases, and access agreements.
* Experience engaging with DNOs, TOs, and statutory undertakers.
* Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Degree in Property, Real Estate, Land Management, or related field (preferred).
* Knowledge of UK planning, property law, and utility regulations (advantageous)
