At National Highways, we have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Operations Directorate. The role involves supporting the management and delivery of a portfolio of projects within the Region, overseeing project teams, external contractors, and consultants. You will ensure adherence to governance, quality assurance, health and safety, and technical standards across the supply chain and National Highways.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the delivery of complex projects and manage standard projects across all lifecycle stages, from design to service introduction. Report on performance, develop solutions, and prepare business cases.
2. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Project Managers, stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure mutual understanding and project success.
3. Ensure compliance with the National Highways Operations Quality Management System (QMS) to meet quality, cost, time, and safety standards.
4. Assist in programme, reporting, and risk management, ensuring effective financial and contractual practices.
5. Consider health and safety throughout project planning and delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
* Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or significant experience in Civil Engineering project delivery.
* Understanding of project management practices and controls.
* Experience in stakeholder relationship management.
* Knowledge of NEC contract management and Disability Confident principles.
