Caroline Castigliano ) is the market leader in luxury bridal & eveningwear in the United Kingdom with a showroom in Knightsbridge and specialist retail stockists worldwide.
We create exquisite, hand crafted, bespoke, MTO and MTM bridal and evening gowns at our dedicated studio in Harlaxton, near Grantham, Lincolnshire. All of our gowns undertake a 100% Quality Control inspection prior to dispatch.
We are looking for a QC Technician to join our team. You will be assisting the QC and Workroom Manager with a variety of tasks including day to day quality checks of all garments and accessories being made for our discerning clients, and communication with the relevant departments.
The successful candidate will ideally have a fashion related degree or relevant qualification and at least 2 years' experience working in fashion/bridal wear. You will require an understanding of how to measure garments and patterns. Knowledge of understanding patterns is desirable but not required.
Main duties-
· Inspection of all finished garments to ensure they are correct for appearance, sizing, fabric quality and construction.
· Involvement with design and technical departments to review manufacturing methods to ensure highest levels of quality, whilst achieving cost budgets and consistency in make.
· To receive handover of new collections each season and ensure QC packs are detailed as required and accurate to each gown.
· Oversee make of first production sample and achieve sign off with Sample Room Manager & Designer.
· Assist in supervising the in-house sewing departments in terms of standards and techniques, and provide instruction where necessary.
· Liaise with, and occasionally visit, outworkers to monitor, maintain and improve standards of quality, providing instruction and training where necessary.
· Ensure all information relevant to the QC process is accurately entered onto the Production IT system.
· Deal with any Stockist queries after receipt of a gown, monitor and process customer returns to a satisfactory resolution. Investigate issues of concern and develop procedures to avoid repetitive mistakes.
Skills and experience required-
· Fashion or Textile related degree or relevant qualification.
· Minimum 2 years' experience working in fashion/bridal wear.
· Understanding on measuring garments and patterns.
· Knowledge of altering patterns is preferrable. Experience working with Gerber is advantage.
· Ability to sew and understand construction techniques.
· A keen interest in luxury womenswear/bridalwear.
· Highly organised and proactive.
· Ability to use Microsoft programmes and our internal system.
· Flexible working approach and able to adapt to the needs of the team.
Salary and Benefits-
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm based at our Studio in Harlaxton- Grantham.
